The Most Wonderful Week at Birkdale House

“We had the most wonderful week at Birkdale House.

The house itself is beautiful and set in such a wonderful large garden with a view right down to the lake and over the surrounding hills. It’s so peaceful and quiet there, despite being just 10 minutes walk from the town of Bowness, it feels like you’re in the middle of nowhere.

The house itself has been newly renovated and everything was perfect. All the bedrooms were super comfortable, the kitchen had everything we needed and the cinema / games room was such a great bonus, especially for our kids! I was particularly impressed with the Big Green Egg barbecue outside on the terrace where we spent plenty of time as we were so lucky with the weather.

What I was most impressed with was the level of service. Rachael from Matson Ground Estate was so helpful from the moment I first called ahead of our holiday, right until the end of our stay. Nothing was too much trouble, and she helped us to arrange a private chef dinner at the house, a special in-house pub delivery and even a babysitter. If there was any small issue, someone immediately came round to fix it. We were so well looked after and it made a huge difference.”
