Our Birkdale House Wellness Retreat: 13-15 September 2024

We have teamed up with a local fitness expert to deliver our first Wellness Retreat at Birkdale House – a delightful weekend getaway that promises to nourish your mind, body, and soul.

Set in the idyllic grounds of Birkdale House on Matson Ground, this retreat is for those who wish to relax, unwind, recharge and enjoy a healthy weekend with likeminded people in the luxurious settings of a traditional Lakeland House. We can host up to 10 guests in 5 bedrooms. All bedrooms are either twin or king / superking. Prices for two sharing start at £1490.00 per room, or single occupancy from £970.00.

The weekend will include invigorating outdoor Pilates sessions (should the weather have other plans, we’ll move our sessions to the nearby converted barn, just a short stroll from the house); mindful walks around the beautiful Matson Ground; a scenic boat trip down to the southern end of Lake Windermere followed by a paddleboarding session; wild swimming in the nearby tarn; and an evening sound meditation session.

All meals are included and can be enjoyed in our spacious dining room or on the large terrace with stunning views of the grounds. Buffet style breakfasts are served each day and lunches provided. A private chef will prepare healthy evening meals using fresh, local produce.

In between activities, feel free to explore the beautiful grounds, find a cosy corner to curl up with a good book, or simply relax in your room – the choice is yours. And as a little memento of your time with us, you’ll receive a special gift to take home.

There are also charged optional extras available such as a hawk experience or a relaxing body massage.

This weekend is all about immersing yourself in nature, enjoying delicious food, and leaving feeling refreshed and revitalised. Whether you come as a couple, as friends or on your own, you’ll feel very welcome in this stunning Lakeland house.

With over 16 years’ experience in the fitness industry, Jade is a qualified Pilates instructor and personal trainer who has dedicated her career to helping others achieve their wellness goals, and lead healthier, more fulfilling lives.

Growing up exploring the stunning South Lakes fells, Jade’s passion for an active lifestyle was nurtured from an early age, instilling in her a deep understanding of the restorative benefits of exercising outdoors and connecting with the environment.

Whether Jade is guiding clients through invigorating Pilates sessions or tailoring outdoor fitness routines, you can be assured of a unique blend of professionalism and motivation, in addition to her infectious enthusiasm.
